Oregon outages don't ask permission. Ice storms, windstorms, and wildfire-season shutoffs all take the grid down without much warning. And if you have solar without storage, every kilowatt-hour you make but don't use leaves the house the moment it's produced. A battery solves both: backup power when the grid fails, and your own production on tap when the sun isn't out.

A home battery switches over automatically when the power goes out. No cords, no fuel cans, no trip to the breaker panel in the dark. The refrigerator, the furnace fan, the lights, the internet: the circuits you choose stay on.

What homeowners ask us about batteries.

It depends on the capacity you install and what you're running. A refrigerator and lights draw far less than an electric furnace. For the systems we install, typical backup runtimes are typical backup durations by battery size. We size for your real loads during the evaluation, not a brochure scenario.
Usually, yes. We check your inverter setup and electrical panel first. Some systems pair directly, others need an adapter or a panel upgrade. If someone else installed your solar, we can still evaluate it and give you a straight answer.
Cost tracks capacity, which comes down to how many kilowatt-hours you want on hand and whether you're backing up essential circuits or the whole house.
